Japan’s First Successful Tunnel Blasting Using Machine Loading with Wireless Electronic Detonators

Taisei Corporation conducted, on August 4, 2025, Japan’s first test blasting using fully mechanized loading of explosives—including wireless electronic detonators (WINDJET® II system)—without relying on manual labor. This was carried out in the blasting operations for the road tunnel construction of the Shin-Nozoki Tunnel on National Route 13 (ordered by the Tohoku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism), utilizing the previously developed explosive loading device “T-Quick Shot.”
